Regular Garden Maintenance
🛠️

Regular maintenance keeps your garden in excellent condition, avoiding the need for disruptive, costly “rescue mission” visits. We maintain lawns, borders, shrubs and overall presentation, then keep it ticking over on a schedule that suits your garden and the season.

If a garden has been left to lapse, we may recommend a longer visit in the first instance to bring it back under control. This is still part of regular garden maintenance and is designed to set a solid baseline before moving onto ongoing visits.

Weekly Or Fortnightly?

Maintenance visits are scheduled on a weekly or fortnightly basis year-round. Our minimum visit length is four hours and many gardens are best maintained with four-hour or eight-hour visits, depending on garden size and the standard you want to maintain.

Where a weekly four-hour visit is more time than your garden requires, we can recommend a fortnightly visit instead, following assessment by our lead gardener, so there is enough time to make meaningful progress and leave the garden properly finished.

Regular garden maintenance is ongoing plant care, not a one-size-fits-all tidy. Many shrubs and perennials need pruning, shaping and dead-heading at specific times of year to support flowering, regrowth and overall plant health. We plan work around seasonal windows and conditions, rather than cutting everything back whenever it suits.

Some tasks are weather-dependent. Where it matters, we avoid pruning and cutting back in poor conditions, as damp weather can increase the chance of problems on fresh cuts for certain plants.

Approach

What’s Included in a Maintenance Visit?

  • Weeding beds and borders, including paths and edges
  • Pruning and shaping shrubs (seasonally appropriate)
  • Lawn mowing and edging (where applicable)
  • Cutting back, dead-heading and general plant care
  • Keeping things tidy and presentable between seasons
  • Hedge trimming (maintenance level)
  • Leaf blowing and clearance of weather-related debris

Wildlife And Seasonal Checks

We work with the garden as it is, including seasonal and legal considerations.

All wild birds, their nests and eggs are protected by law. If we identify active nesting in a hedge, shrub or climber, we will not disturb it and we will schedule work around it.

Practical Information

Green Waste And Disposal
We can remove green waste if needed. Green waste removal is charged at £50 per large garden-waste bag.

This applies to clean green waste. If waste is mixed or contaminated, any additional disposal costs will be agreed in advance.

We’ll confirm the disposal option before taking anything away.
What We Need From You
Clear access to the garden and any side gate codes
Parking information, especially on tight roads, including any permit requirements or restrictions
Tell us about hidden hazards: irrigation, cables, fragile edging, pets, ponds or anything underground
Let us know what you want kept, reduced or removed, especially with shrubs and climbers

Next Step

We start with a free consultation at your garden to discuss what you would like, assess the current condition and advise on the most suitable visit length and schedule.

If the garden needs a longer first visit to bring it back under control, we will agree that upfront, then move onto regular maintenance.
